What is the Ingestre Good Neighbours Scheme

Camden’s Good Neighbour Schemes.
Good Neighbour Schemes are run by a variety of voluntary and community organisations in the borough, including many focusing on localities and some on black and ethnic minority communities. Age Concern Camden provides a support service to the schemes, and directly runs a project covering the NW3 area.
Good Neighbour Schemes can assist older people with:
Escorting to hospital appointments or other appointments.
Social outings and events for members of the scheme.
Arranging visits by the Good Neighbours Scheme.
Arranging a weekly visit from a befriending volunteer.
Keeping in touch by phone.
Help with contacting adult social care and other statutory bodies.
Helping maintain and build social networks.
Some schemes help with small repairs.
Each Good Neighbour Scheme is run by a co-ordinator and supported by a group of volunteers.
Hear at Ingestre Road Scheme we work within the NW5 catchment area.
At present we have around one hundread clients whom we support. We have one full time member of staff and two part time members. Supporting 100 people with only a small number of staff we now rely heavly upon and are most grateful to all the volunteers we have and have had help us out over the years. Ingestre is a thriving Community Centre serving the NW5 area in North London. Draw a triangle with Kentish Town, Tufnell Park and Gospel Oak Stations at the points and Ingestre sits in the middle. Ingestre was developed, built and opened in 1974 at the request and due to the efforts of the local community. It is directed via a Board of Governers drawn from that same community and now has Charity Status. It receives funding from various sources including Camden Council. Ingestre provides facilities, services, support and learning opportunities for people from all backgrounds and abilities throughout the NW5 community area. See the links below for more information.
